The drill core imaging system (Sisu Single Core Scanner) is a hyperspectral infrared imaging system that is designed for small amounts of drill core samples per year. The scanner comes with either a visible/near-infrared (VNIR) or short-wave infrared (SWIR) pushbroom hyperspectral camera, depending on the application.
Mineralogoy and complicated organic compounds including photopigments and alkenones can be measured depending on the wavelength range selected. The distibution of these compounds within lake sediment core samples, for example, can be achieved with the imaging-based system.
The infrared imaging system provides the same functionalities as the SisuROCK system, only on a smaller scale. The smaller size makes the system an ideal, portable research tool to measure core samples.
